Post by biz » Thu Oct 20, 2011 8:05 pm

Hi there
I know that whatI am asking for is relatively modern info, but I do wish that someone can
help

My husbands cousin <name removed> recently got married in Glasgow around the end of September 2011
what we was wondering is was the marriage covered in any newspapers if so what was reported and the name of the paper please
thanks
Bizx

Name removed as the date is well past the TS cut-off dates. Cut-off dates are listed in the Essential Reading section.

I think these are both Glasgow newspapers.

Try the search box at the top right, enclosing the name within quotes may or may not help. I don’t think that classifieds, i.e. paid for marriage notices and the like, are included in this type of online archive. Google usually picks up what's on these sites.

They are Alan.

More likely to be in the Herald but both have online access to Family Notices.

For The Herald scroll right down to the bottom and you'll see the link to Family Notices under 'our advertising services'.
For the Times it's on the toolbar at the top of the home page.

Annette

Thanks Annette,

I never would have found that one. I was probably thinking of an offering from ProQuest or somewhere that has news reports from the last 10-15 years from a whole heap of newspapers but without any of the classifieds.

All the best,
Alan
