Glasgow Burial Request

Post by Mary Kate » Tue Mar 11, 2014 5:12 pm

Hi,

I had e-mailed Trongate offices yesterday to ask for help with information of family burials. I've had an e-mail back from them this afternoon to say that all burial information has been digitised and is available at the Mitchell Library.

Hi, The Mitchell Library Genealogy Dept. is on the 3rd. Floor, you gotta pphone n book a place cost is £15 for the day. You have the use of a computer from 9.30.Am. Til 4.Pm., & they have B.M.D records (Scotlands People). Well worth a visit.

Hi Harry,

Thank you for the information. I know the Mitchell is undergoing some form of renovation internally at the moment.

I haven't been there for a while but I would imagine the digitised burial index, if available, would be available at the archives or the family history centre (no payment required). The renovation is only affecting the upper floors - 2nd and 3rd floors are fine.

Regards,
Annette
