Hi Marilyn
I know what you mean. I have a couple of old silver candlesticks. I don't know what they are worth, but occationally I take out the magnifying glass to try and decipher all the markings on them. This mystifies my husband.
Your post just reminded me that I have a couple of old dining chairs. I keep on meaning to turn them over to find out when and where they are made.
Cheers
Sheila

I have this nasty habit of turning things over to look at the bottom of them. If someone gives me a cup and it looks a bit old I’ll turn it over to look at the bottom. I don’t know why because I’m not really interested in cups. I don’t know what people are thinking when they see me do this. It can be embarrassing, especially when the cup is full.
Well maybe that's half true although I’m not sure which half.

Sheila,
If the Antique Roadshow ever makes it to Rhode Island, I'll be waiting in line with my upside down table and my giant magnifying glass
Marilyn
Currie,
I have three "left hand tea sets" passed down to me by my great Aunt Josephine, now I'll be tipping them over.
