Who Do You Think You Are comes to the U.S.
This just came in the NEHGS newsletter. Apparently NBC has bought the American rights to the show.

Hello Sarah,
Currently on Australian TV they’re running the U.K. series on Sunday night and re-runs of the Australian series on Friday night. The U.S. series should fit in nicely on Saturday night unless another channel picks it up and runs it in the same time slot as one of the others. Then there’s the Canadian one.
I’m looking forward to it.
Alan.

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for the link...I'll look forward to seeing it, although it looks like a US version which will be dependent upon them finding suitable celebrities to appear. The one they have on PBS is good, but that's also with well known celebrities. The last one in that series had viewers writing in complaining about the lack of "normal" people, so they did one "normal" family.
I enjoy this type of programming but would prefer to see a littlel more concentration on normal families and their lives, rather than celebrities...still, I hope they make the series.
Regards,
Anne H

Hi Sheila,

I'm not sure when this was written but it looks like we won't see the US version until late in 2008...it's getting there!

Anne H

There is a Canadian version of WDYTYA? But there is also 'Ancestors in the Attic' which is entering its 3rd season. It deals with 'normal' people rather than celebrities. usually launching from some family treasure or memento to trace back.

Hi Anne and Frances.
Thanks Anne. Hopefully it will be on later this year.
I will keep an eye out for it.
Frances, that Canadian Series looks like it could be really fun and interesting. How I wish that I could get it here in Southern Calif. I tried the feed but it wouldn't play where I am.
You are so lucky to be able to watch it.
Cheers
