Hi Ann
Before I forget, please pm me your e-mail address, the information you have on the family that Jane worked for here in RI and the addresses from your 1920 & 1930 census or the census records themselves? I'd like to see if they were prominent members of society. Plus I may be able to e-mail you a link that will show the address, as I'm about to do in a pm.

Bye the way, Swan Point Cemetery is beautiful, wow!
Yeah its very beautiful and many prominent people are buried there, as well as some of us common folk.

The cemetery is located off of Blackstone Blvd in Providence, which is a street address of many doctors, lawyers, professors, judges, bankers, etc.....

Thats brilliant news You've managed to find out so quickly!!
Ann, I only had to make three quick phone calls and one quick trip to the library down the road from my office to confirm that your suspicions were correct.
My first call was to Swan Point Cemetery. Their records are computerized so it only took a few seconds for the clerk to confirm the section of Swan Point that Jane is laid to rest in. She is buried on Forest Avenue and I have the Group and lot number. If you can wait a while, I'll get over there and take a picture of her gravesite for ya. The clerk also faxed me a map of her site and its located close to the main entrance off of Blackstone Blvd, so it should be simple to find. I'm looking at the map as I type this and she's very close to the "Alfred Stone Memorial" which you should be able to locate on the Swan Point site? The clerk also confirmed to me, Jane's parents names and that she was born in Kincardineshire, Scotland. Jane is buried with her husband, Edward "R" the last name which appears on her stone (protecting her identity) She was laid to rest on 2 Jan, a few day after her passing. The clerk also supplied me with the name of the funeral parlor.
My next call was to the funeral director, who was very helpful and confirmed Jane's parents information and it would appear that Jane had no children. Her niece Julia "P" was the informant. They had no death certificate on file and they were not able to fax me the information because it was in a large leather bound ledger and that they couldn't copy from. (not sure why, but ok)
The final call was to my local library right around the corner from my office. I called the reference section and asked what years they stored on micro film for the Providence Journal, 1965-Present....Oh wow, my lucky day, I mean your lucky day.

So I popped in for 5 minutes and found Jane's death notice. Back then the Providence Journal had the early morning edition and late afternoon. I checked 29 Dec - 2 Jan
By the way 29 Dec, the date of Jane's passing was a Sunday (a little trivia)
The PJ have what we call an obitutary (family pays for the submission) and a death notice (which is considered news, and put in for free) Jane only had a death notice, which was printed in the 31 Dec edition. The notice doesn't list any family members names, besides her husband and her street address, which I'm going to pm you a picture of as soon as I finish this post.
Swan Point also confirmed her place of death which was the Eleanor Slater Hospital in Cranston, Rhode Island.

Just for the record, there are two parts to this site; The Eleanor Slater Hospital and MHRH. My mum worked as a nurse for MHRH for 40 years, until her retirement. Your g aunt passed in the hosptial section and not the Mental health area.
Regards
Marilyn
P.S. A little more trivia for your memory book......if Jane lived in Bristol, Rhode Island then she surely had to attend the annual 4th of July celebrations...
The Annual Fourth of July Celebration, established in 1785, is the oldest continuous celebration of its kind in the United States.

Its a great parade and we always have a fun time.......
