I assume Gail answered your library query :?:
If she found the index of the death on the BDM fiche, it does not say where the death happened (they only say Brisbane or elsewhere, so if not Brisbane no location is given). If it is via burial information then the burial location should be known.

Hi Trish, from a very rainy Scotland, The email came from Qld Govt Office and she said I could buy a cert if I wanted more info.I thought the cost was too much so I will just have to content myself with what I have at the mo,I know she lived at Lindsay St Bundamba 1n 1917 and she died 1918 so I guess thats where she died. Thank you for your help and wishing you good luck with yours :)

Not cheap the Qld certificates (similar to all of Australia) - they do usually contain lots of information - similar to 1855 Scotland, but I don't know why they can't have a system like SP

So pleased she got back to you - I thought there was an index from Ipswich cemetery at the library. My husband's paternal ancestors are in Ipswich Cemetery - maybe the Shanks are nearby :)

Sooner or later someone will track you down (or vice versa). I recently met up with a 3rd cousin in Canada. :D

If you wanted to look for descendants you could try the white pages

Hi Trish
Yes ,I thought of the white papers and discovered a Shanks living in Bundamba and noticed on a map that it wasnt too far from where my ancestors had lived. I havent the courage to contact them as Im unsure of this. I hope you are having some luck with yours all the best from Falkirk from Christine
