Colonial Secretary's Correspondence Indexes

Post by scooter » Fri Jun 27, 2008 10:26 am

Hello,

Does anyone have any clues as to where I might be able to view Joan Reese's Colonial Secretary's Correspondence indexes (1826 onwards) here in the UK, or where I might be able to get hold of copies? I've had a look to see if I could view this in the LDS Family History Centre in London, but without success.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers,

Scott

Hello Scott,

Is this the one you’re after?
I haven’t looked in there myself and don’t know how useful it is.

Hi Alan,

The same deal, but after 1825, which is when the 'online' index finishes. Apparently there is an index for the period after this, just not on the web.

Cheers,

Scott

Hello Scott,

I thought there might have been something in the “Main Series of Letters Received, 1826-1982” bit. The LDS have some Joan Reese items and its a shame they dont have the ones you’re after.

You can buy the microfiche but it’s probably a bit pricey and then there’s the cost of a viewer.

Good luck,
Alan
