The archives of Tasmania are putting more of their records online. A few years ago I spent a week at the archives office looking up, transcribing and printing records - now they are coming online - including wills to 1989

Not all of the indexes have scans of the actual records attached - some still have to be ordered from the archives

Re: Tasmanian Records - Wills online
Thanks Trish,
There’s some interesting stuff there.
Discounting a honeymoon couple who met a very tragic end there back in the 1950’s I have only one Tasmanian death and that’s in 1998.
Wouldn’t it be nice if NSW or QLD did something similar.
All the best,
Alan

Re: Tasmanian Records - Wills online
My husband has family from Tasmania - and there are 8 wills of direct relatives & any number for more distant cousins/aunts etc. It is very impressive. I have been to the Qld archives to get some from there, but it is so handy to have them all online - and indexed - and free! NSW seems to have an agreement with ancestry so perhaps some may turn up there one day
