This is a great link, Stephan. Thanks for posting it. If only every city had a site like this!

Brilliant site, thanks for the link. I managed to stumble upon relatives in New Zealand and I thought I had them all. On this site though I have found a person who I am positive must have been a relative of mine and I don't know anything about her. Without the next of kin though I can't tell. This could just have opened up a new branch.
Cheers

Follow up. I've struck gold on this site, via SP.
I had a search for anyone called "Marr" on the cemetry section and was intrigued to find a "Mary Drummond Marr". The reason being is that I have a Hugh Marr married to a Mary Drummond in my tree. From the entry I was able to see that she was born in Scotland around 1867 so I searched SP.
Strangely I found two children of the same name born in 1866. One turned out to be the daughter of a relative I knew about but I never knew about the child- bingo! Even better though was the other one. She turned out to be the daughter of a Thomas Marr and Margaret Arbuckle. The only Thomas I knew of was dead as far as I knew. I managed to get her parent's marriage certificate and it turns out his parents were indeed Hugh Marr and Mary Drummond. What a find!
So Thomas never died when I thought he did. At first I was not sure which Mary Drummond Marr had emigrated to NZ though. That was until I found a Thomas Marr on the Dundedin site who's estimated birth year was 1836 and born in Scotland- a match for my "dead" Thomas.
It's been a good start to the day. Thank you once again.

Thank you, Stephan, I now know when my Uncle Bertie died. None of my living relatives could remember and we've lost touch with the other uncle, his brother, who went to NZ a couple of years after he did.

Margaret McKay - Scotland to New Zealand
Sorry folks haven't a clue where in Scotland Margaret McKay was born.
She came to Otago New Zealand c 1868. Can't find my notes amongst the collosal heap of filing I need to cateragise. Details are on my newly established forum at : ancestralsearch.proboards101.com/index.cgi?
Please if you have knowledge...would greatly appreciate your input.
Thank you......Dianne (Di)
