S. Aftrica (Cape) in the early 1800, Military .....

Post by Anna Dunne » Sat Sep 10, 2005 3:44 pm

Is there anyone with knowledge of the Military and their families at the Cape from about 1819 to about 1832? I have found that there were 'schools' for the children of the military but that's about all I have been able to find out. Trying to find out just how many of the children born and brought to the Cape, lived and came out of S. Africa back to U.K. I know of two in the family that made it. Would like to find out about the rest of them.

Military would have been the 55th Foot, Westmorland.
