That's the wan. Ah've never been there when there hisnae been a queue but it's well worth the wait and while yer staunin there the smell eh the fish and chips drives ye tae distraction so that when it's time for your turn ye grab yer supper oot their hauns as if ye hivnae eaten before. Heaven knows whit they think aboot us folks fae Glesca. Ah jist canny wait

I don't know about the rest of you but I can't wait for Jean's visit and to hear about her experiences putting all this into practice. Do you think it will make the papers or the evening news cos I've a feeling she might end up arrested?

when i wrote pouncey it was in referance to Joettes comment
i should have used "quote"
as for pan loaf that's what my scottish granny made my jelly piece out off
at "home"in N.Ireland we had 2 types of loaf plain &pan.

Just a wee comment on the pronounciations. The locals pronounce Aberchirder "Foggy Loan" which saves me deciding if it is pronounced with a hard or soft ch, not being local myself!
Also Fraserburgh is correctly pronounced "The Broch".
Personally my favourite from up here is Strachan which is pronounced Strawn.
The area of Aberdeenshire known as the Garioch is pronounced Geerie.
