Hi Drapadew,

Lyle Street is still there, not sure about number 31 though. There are a few Greenock people on the board who may be able to get an answer for you.

If you compare an old map to a modern one then you can see that where No 31 would have been is demolished and replaced.

You can view 9 - 15 on Google street view.

Not an answer to the question, but you may be interested in the Greenock Directories available free online at the Internet Archive. http://archive.org/search.php?query=gre ... pe%3Atexts

The latest appears to be 1940 and is a very nice piece of work. http://archive.org/stream/greenockdistr ... 5/mode/2up

The National Library of Scotland now has almost 1000 Scottish Directories online at the Internet Archive, and right up to about 1940 for some areas. It’s a work in progress.

All the best,
Alan

Hi,

I think nelmet is correct.
Half of Lyle Street was re developed, I think in the late 60's.
I will ask my friend who lived in Lyle St. and another friend who still lives there.
Interested in McKillop from Laggan, Scotland.
