Here's another one for you all. John Langwarrin MARSHALL. Now where the heck would a name like Langwarrin come from. Must be a place name perhaps??

A quick look on Google shows Langwarrin as a place in Victoria 45km SE of Melbourne. Does that tie in with any information that you have?

All the best,

Mine range from the relatively mundane -

Lazarus FINER

- to the more unusual -

Ortie Estas GOOWDIN, parents Ortie GOODWIN and Susan GOODWIN MS CAMPBELL.

- to the completely unbelievable -

Theophilus Armand Roland Thelesphore MITCHELL (Andy, eat your heart out   )

- the illegitimate son of Elizabeth MITCHELL, Domestic Servant, in Dundee in 1864. Sadly, he didn't survive beyond the age of 18 months, - I was fascinated to see what name was given on possible marriage and death register entries ..........

Hello Andrew, yes, John Langwarrin Marshall was, I believe, born in Melbourne, Victoria. I haven't his birth records to confirm it though. I wonder if perhapsl that is where his parents or other family came from. I will have to check it out.

David, your family name beats all  and all I can say is the poor little blighter was lucky he never had to write it.

And, with the surname WILD how can Phebe be a 'puritan'?

I suppose puritans should HATE evil. C'mon Mallog You should be used to different spellings by this time!

I know that I've got an image somewhere on my HD for Lazarus, and have just uploaded we Theo' s birth to the Gallery. I seem to recall that Ortie's date was after the on-line limits ...........

Hi Mallog

Nope...not making Hatevil up. Try a google on his name. Have to admit he's not one of my favorites due to his wanting innocent Quaker women to be whipped and punished  but typical of the times I spose. He's my 9th GrGrandfather according to my trusty legacy relationship calculator. I descend through his son Anthony.

Best wishes
Jean
