I was at the registers the other day and came across a birth entry which was a bit illegible as regards the address.
Is/was there a Norvue Terrace in Airdrie. The entry is from 1921.
The "Nor" part was quite clear but it was the ending I'm guessing at.

Hello Andrew,
A Google search brings up this Treasury document ‘National Asset Register’ in PDF format. Page 290 has reference to an Unemployment Benefit Office at 5 Norvue Terrace, Airdrie.

Looks like you read the birth entry correctly.

Hi Norvue Terrace is no longer there. It used to be opposite Saint Margarets High. I only remember the unemployed benefit office, no doubt if you look at various old maps you could pin point it. I was brought up in Airdrie.
Always looking for rellies near and far, especially Toy(e), Berwick, Tobin, Quinn, Gallagher, Pope and Anderson

The unemployment benefit office in Norvue Terrace was knocked down at least 20 years ago and in its place a sheltered housing complex was built. I don't think the name was carried on though. Incidentally there are probably some photos of the old Norvue Terrace, from the days before even the unemployment office, housed in the Kennedy collection in Airdrie Library.
