Help tracing Black Family Members.....

Post by Hilliary Simpson » Mon Jun 20, 2005 7:57 pm

I am trying to locate information on my grand-father's brother. My grandfather was Frank Diamond Black. I have located his marriage certificate & is shows a Peter Black as his witness. I then managed to locate a birth certificate for Peter black confirming indeed that was his brother. I have since found a marriage certificate for Peter Black & Kathleen Mary Cooke married Oct 17 1907. I am trying to find out if they had any children & if so what were their names. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Hillary and welcome

I had a quick look on SP to see if Kathleen Mary Cooke Black died before 1955.....and she's there....1938 in Springburn. I've been lucky before to find children as the informant for their parents death. No guarantees but it might be worth a look. Also you might want to look for the death of Peter based on the knowledge you will learn from her DC. Deaths are searchable online throgh 1954 as opposed to Births only through 1904.

Best wishes
Jean

PS...Don't be alarmed by the costume....just practising for our online beach party this weekend....hope you can attend!!
