Hi there bart.....

I wish I could grant your wish but there are two obstacles in the way.

1. It would be necessary to know your Grandfather's last name
2. If he were truly born in 1907 the BC can't be searched in the online records. The births only go up through 1904 with another year being added every year....ie.....in 3 more years I could look for the BC for you!

If his siblings were born before 1905 they could be searched for online. Or the marriage of their parents could be searched for (but would need the spouse name too). If siblings were born before 1901 you might be able to pick them up in the online census for that year.

This isn't saying that you can't get the BC info.....with an exact DOB I think you can order an extract. Or if there is some guesswork involved then you might want to hire a researcher to go to New Register House for you. Or even plan your own research trip to Edinburgh. Nothing is ever easy is it?

Best wishes
Jean

Thank you for your reply Jean.

Was stupid not to have read my post properly, guess i was a bit disappointed with having a negative response from another site

The surname is Innes. As for the siblings I dont know what order.

So you think that i can order an extract on-line?

Lyn

Hello again Lyn

Through our Sources section you will find a link to General Register Office Scotland....and after clicking on that you will find tons of information about the record keeping and access that is available. This link

http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/famrec/h ... flet2.html

might be helpful to inform you of their fees and policies for a specific event lookup.....so yes...I think if your birthdate is accurate for your grandfather you can get the information.

Good luck!!
Jean
