Nobles x Broadsea.....

Post by moresmall » Fri Jun 24, 2005 5:18 am

Hi

I am researching my Noble ancestors, they are all from the Broadsea area of Fraserburgh.

Their names are:

Wilson Noble b 1881, & Rachael G. Cardno b 1879
Alexander Noble b 1858, & Elizabeth Noble b 1860
Alexander Noble b 1833 & Elizabeth Crawford b 1842
Walter Noble b 1794 & Margaret Noble b 1802
Gilbert Noble b 1767 & Ann Crawford b 1773

Anyone with any of these in their trees, would love to hear from you.

Regards

Maureen x Fraserburgh now living in New Zealand.

Hullo Maureen!

Have you had a look at the database at the FreeCen site? http://freecen.rootsweb.com

There are a number of Nobles in the Fraserburgh 1841 Census, born in Aberdeenshire. Amongst them are

Gilbert 60 Fisherman
Ann 50
Alexander 65 Fisherman
Ann 30 Female servant

Walter 40 Fisherman
Margaret 39
Walter 13
Alexander 7
George 5
Mary 1

Worth looking at later Census too. on the same site.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes
Catriona

I'm sure someone else on here had Fraserburgh Nobels (either here or on the old board).

Perhaps Bev from NZ

Yes it was Bev.
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.

Hi Catriona & Andy

Thanks for your replies. I will certainly check out freecen census sites, and read the older postings.

Andy - I think I have been in touch with the same Bev you mentioned, she is also from New Zealand. We have exchanged some info, but no direct connection.

Thanks

Nobles - Broadsea, Fraserburgh. Yes, I have Gilbert Noble and Jean/Jane Crawford in my research. Their Daughter Sophia born 1787 and son Andrew Born 1781 are both there too. How can I help?

Hi. I am currently researching and am having trouble finding information on Gilbert Noble (c1755 - 1837) and Jean/Jane Crawford, (b. c1760 - ?). I have some vague birth/death dates culled from other sites but wondered if anyone had found anything more definite? The usual search engines and genealogy sites are not being much help. Also any idea when they were married? Thank you.
