Greetings everyone!
In researching another line in my family, I'm wondering where to look next. I have a Private William Hall born in 1838 in Perth Scotland and baptised in the First Relief Congregation (have the entry from the old parish records). First question is what was the First Relief Congregation--Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Quaker or something else?
Someone a few years back did up a military of William Hall so I was able to get most of the information about where he was in India for close to 20 years before he, Lydia and three children returned to Perth, Scotland.
Where I would find the marriage and births in the military records? The muster books that were used for the research are missing for the period during which William married. Would the three births and marriage be recorded in the military records someplace? I've checked the LDS films and found the two of the baptisms but haven't been able to find the marriage. Or would Scotland's People have a separate section for military marriages in the 1860's?
Looking forward to your responses.

The First Relief Congregation in Perth would have been the first church of the second major Secession from the Established Church of Scotland, generally known as the Relief Church. Had there been a second congregation in Perth belonging to the Relief Church it would have been known as the Second Relief Congregation !!
All very strictly presbyterian...............

Regimental birth and marriage indices can be found on www.1837online.com
By the way, Scotland is classed as overseas, as I found when searching an 1852 military birth in Edinburgh.
Hope that helps
