Hi Maggie,

Freecen has some Dumfriesshire 1841 completed, but Largs 1841 not yet online.

Seems William was in Largs 1851, though i can't see him anywhere in Ayrshire 1861.
Will get full 1851 details at one point. [now added]

1851 602 (532) Ed 5 p 4 (Largs)
Lades Land, Gateside St.
William OLIVER, head, marr, 48, ship carpenter, b Dumfries, DFS
Jane SHEARER, wife, marr, 52, ------------- b Largs, AYR

Hello Jack :)
thanks for the information i'm trying to track "uncle William" from Largs from Archibald's poor relief record to see if i can obtain his parents names
there is quite a few Olivers born Dumfries on the IGI but can't find a family with a Samuel and as "uncle William" died in the abbey poor house in 1879 his death cert gives parents as unknown and also widower of------------that too has been left blank. So i thought if i was able to see where he was in 41,51&61it might help.I can't get on scotspeople tonight at all it just keeps on coming up with an error on registration for whatever reason.thanks once again Jack regards maggie

1841 Largs census is online at http://freecen.rootsweb.com but there is no sign of a William Oliver
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.
