Yes Lesley, thanks. In fact, I've been to "the office" and met "the crew".LesleyB wrote:Hi James

Grand place, Shetland.
I'm kind of hoping some other Inksters will pop their heads up someplace.
Thanks,
James.

Hello James,
There are no online BDMs for South Australia so can’t help there.
Maybe they’re connected to these Inkster’s who came to South Australia http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin ... ecno=13101
You’ll find a number of military Inkster’s born South Australia late 19th Century if you search for INKSTER SA here http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/record ... index.aspx
There are some Inkster’s mentioned in a South Australia newspapers on this pilot site (will be much more there later)
http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home
Is this young John? http://images.slsa.sa.gov.au/mpcimg/08750/B8505_3.htm
There’s a passenger list here http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/austr ... st1852.htm
Hope this helps,
Alan

Hi James,
If you go to: http://www.sagh.org.au/
(South Australian Genealogy and Heraldry Society) you will find the following:
Government Gazettes: Inkster, 10 recorded names from 1845 to 2000
Cemetery Index: 9 recorded names from 1899 to 1991
Newspaper Deaths: 34 names.
They also now have a Transcription service for B.D.M's which began in July 2008.
Cheers,
Seeker.

Re: Andrew Inkster & Isabella Henderson - SHETLAND to AUSTR
I noticed your post from 2008. If you are still interested I have a very detailed account of all their descendants including photographs, stories etc. Its a large file (nearly 100 pages) so if you would like a copy just let me know.
