Jessie Fraser m.s. McBain.....

Post by Jean Jeanie » Wed Jul 13, 2005 11:20 am

Hi all

I have Jessie in 1881 aged 29, 1891 aged 40, both Inverness. I then have her in 1901. aged 47 in Kelvin Glasgow. She is a widow at this time. I have her husband's d.c. in 1898. He died in Kelvin Glasgow.

I cannot find her death.

I searched for Jessie Fraser, other name McBain from 1901 to 1954. No county selected and no year of birth or age. There was only one, but it's not her. This one is for m.s. Fraser and married name McBain.

I then searched for J* Fraser/McBain and got 2 results. The one above and another for Jane Fraser/McBain. This isn't her either as the age is out by about 20 years.

Re marriage is a possibility but there are too many Jessie Frasers to go searching.

Where now?

Jean

Hello Jean,

widen the search with wildcards. Try Fra?er and M*cB*n*, with a forename of Jessie, and birth year of 1853 ± 5 years - you will find her.

Regards,

John

Hello John

Many thanks. She now has a different father to the one shown on her marriage cert. But it is definitely the correct Jessie. Mother's name is the same and the informant is a daughter that I know.

Can now look for siblings with this "new father" :o
