FRASER/MACLEAN.....TESTER & GILBERT.....

Post by Pam Pakes » Sat Jul 23, 2005 10:25 pm

I didn't have any luck in my last request of John FRASER, so will come forward a generation.

Alexander FRASER born 1801 Auldearn Nairn - passed away 1870 Duffus Moray - he married Rebeccah MACLEAN 1826 Dyke Moray - Rebeaccah passed away 1875 Duffus Moray.

They had two children that I have found so far.

Ann FRASER born 1827 married William TESTER 1848 Elgin Moray and had seven children - Jane - Alexander - Elizabeth - Ann - Isabella - Ann - Alexander

Elizabeth FRASER born 1828 married George GILBERT 1857 Elgin Moray and had nine children - Rebacca - James - George - Olivia :!: - Elizabeth :!: - Alexander - John - Helen - Walter

:!: Olivia GILBERT married James STUART 1889 Aberdeen - 1 child known so far Charles Lamburn STUART 1897

:!: Elizabeth GILBERT (2xgm) married William Charles BETTERIDGE 1887 Balmain Sydney Australia. 6 children all traced

Is there anyone connected to the names above or if some one could help expand the information I have - would love to hear from you.

Hullo Pam

There doesn't seem to be anyone on TS searching or connected to the names you mentionned. Maybe some day.

I did wonder if you had searched the 1901 Census for Olivia & family. I see that there is a 36 year old Olivia Stuart in St Nicolas District, Aberdeen City.
If it is your Olivia, it should help to find out more about her other children, if any.

All the best for your research.

Yes Catronia

That sounds like my Olivia - I have her born abt 1863 Saint Nicolas Aberdeen, marrying James STUART 1889 Saint Nicolas. birth unknown.
They had one known child or if there was any more children :?: , Charles Lamburn STUART born 1897, don't know who he married :?: believe he had a daughter Eileen Olivia STUART abt 1926.

If any one else can expand on this information I would be very grateful.

Pam

It may be well worth your while to access this 1901 Census entry on Scotlands People. Who knows, Charles might have had a brother or sister by then :D

Best wishes

Hi Pam

I just came across this post when googling my grandfather's name - Charles Stuart. Are you still interested to know more about him? I was wondering what your connection was to him?

Best wishes

Jim

Hi Jim
Apologise for the delay, but it is ages since I have been on Talkingscots and changed my email this weekend so it came in, in a round about way to me.
I have Charles Lambum Stuart b. 1897, m. Mary Jane McArthur and had three daughters - Marie Gilbert, Eileen Olivia, daughter ?? no name.

Charles is the twin son of James Stuart & Olivia Gilbert (my ggrandmother's sister), his twin is Oliver which I know nothing.

The other siblings are Elizabeth, George, Margaret & James, all born in Aberdeen.

Hope this is some help to you. Contact me on ppakes43 insert AT sign gmail.com
Many thanks for your contact

Hi Pam,
Try
http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/mainmenu.asp
I looked up the Testers on it as it's an unusual name and you will find a lot to interest you there.

Jen
