Post by jillruss » Wed Aug 17, 2005 5:00 pm

Hi,

Just in case there is anyone else out there studying any of the same surnames in Perthshire :-

CAMPBELL
YOUNG
FERRIER
KETTLE
DONALDSON
STEWART

Please make contact if you have any of those names in Perthshire in your tree and, hopefully, we might be able to exchange info. You never know!

Jill.

Hi,

My Donaldsons would appear to be from Forgandenny in Perthshire - not very far from Scone. ( I looked on the map!)

I have Ann Donaldson married David Kettle in Perth in 1778.

I'm pretty sure Ann was baptised in Forgandenny in 1763, daughter of Thomas Donaldson and Janet Muir.

As far as I can tell, Thomas was baptised in nearby Dunbarney in 1738, son of another Thomas Donaldson.

I don't know if you have any of the above in your tree? There's always a chance!!

best wishes,
Jill.

:) Hi my gggrandmother was Amelia Fisken born perth 1795 to Peter Fisken and Jean Robertson. There were a lot of Fiskens in Perth in the 18th and 19th centuries but they appear to have moved about a bit for the usual reasons. Amelia married a Robert Young in Glasgow in 1817.
Have a list of other Fiskens, if you are interested let me know names.
