George Wallace.....

Hello All,

I am facing more frustration with my Wallace famil;y

.
Having found the death cert for Agnes Wallace wife of George Wallace. I now have a problem as to who the parents of Agnes really are I know she was ms Thomson.

On the death cert it lists parents as Andrew Thomson and Margaret Thomson ms unknown and Agnes as aged 72.

the trouble is Scotlands people do not give me Andrew & Margaret as parents for Agnes Thomson b 1790?

IGI gives me
Agnes Thomson b 14th June 1790
c 20th June 1790 Barony Lanark Scotland
Parents

Father Andrew Thomson
Mother Margaret McAlester.

When I look for these on Scotlands people I get
Andrew Thomson b 23rd Nov 1762. no other children come up with a search.

Is it possible that these are the Parents of Andrew Thomson Father of Agnes.???

Also this family has been sealed into the Mormon Church and parents given as James Thomson & Elizabeth Frew on the Ordinance Record.

Any suggestions please as I feel iam going around in circles with this one.

As this is an LDS submission, and the IGI shows no matching OPR record, it is reasonable that the birth or christening is not there on ScotlandsPeople. SP only shows the OPR records from pre-1855 as these are traceable to an original record.

You only way forward with the LDS submission is to try and contact the submitter and find out where their information came from. Was it from a family bible? Was it from the Kirk Session Records (was she illegitimate)? Where else?

Thanks for the reply.

I have the name of the submitter for the IGI entry she was Margie Robins Staples from Utah. Unfortunatly we dont think she is now alive. Have done several searches to try and trace her but always draw a blank.

Have searched the social security rolls for the States also .

The Birth of Andrew Thomson was from the OPR Births & baptisims Scotlands people 23rd Nov 1762 Glasgow seems as if he is with the same parents as Agnes Thomson.????

Have the Birth for Agnes Thomson b20th Jun 1790 Barony as Child 2 & sister Mary Thomson b 10th Aug 1788 Govan to parents Andrew Thomson & Margaret McAlaster.

Must have been doing something wrong yesterday still cant get Andrews parents or work out the marriage .
