Help with Identifying Age of Girl

Hello All
This is a photo of my Mum, Jessie McMillan as a girl in Boston. She was born in Ayr, so I am thinking it may have been taken to send to rellies in Scotland. Would like opinions as to the age of the child in the photo.

Regarding her age, I would say 8 - 10 years?

Thank you Wilma and Annette.
She was 8 or 9 when her mother remarried and had a little extra money for photos, so that makes sense. I would recognize her in the photo anytime, because her hands with the lovely long fingers are the same !
