HELP -LOOKING FOR A POLICEMAN.....

Hi all

I am trying to get details on the illegitimate father of a Margaret Paterson daughter of Barbara Walker and Peter Paterson. On Margaret's BC (1905) she is registered in the Parish of the Chapel of Garrioch, Aberdeen where her mother was living. My problem is in trying to get information on Peter Paterson who was present at the registration of the birth and his occupation is that of Police Constable. His address is given as 33 Esslemont Avenue, Aberdeen. That is all I have on him. I have been trying to trace him on the 1901 census but am having difficulty. Does anybody know what district of Aberdeen Esslemont Avenue was in. I realise he many not have been there in 1901 but it is my only clue for the moment.

An email to the current police force covering the area, - Grampian Police, - enquiring what historical records they hold wouldn't go amiss ........

Esslemont Avenue was and is more or less in the centre of Aberdeen in the district known as Rosemount. Not sure if that is going to help you much.
