Further to my earlier email, here's a photo of the Memorial https://www.warmemorialsonline.org.uk/memorial/146894

The current school building was opened in 1969. Before then the Memorial was in the original school building and the current plaque was surrounded by veined marble.

If you or your family wish to pay your respects at the Memorial in person, you would be most welcome; please just get in touch either by email member@ianmccracken.fsnet.co.uk or by phone 0141-582-0090

Ian, thank you so much for taking the time to look for me, and a very big welcome to Talking Scot [talkingscot]

I wasn't hopeful of finding a photograph, I did inherit a little album but, other than a photo of his mother as a child, the oldest photos are in the 1920's. Photographs were likely a luxury they couldn't afford [ or more likely his father drank the money for] and I would have supposed any snap of the only son, killed for his King & Country would have taken pride of place in the family.

I will email you the service records later.
I'll have to speak to the young man in question about his presentation, I think the finished article is stored on his school web account, but I'm sure he'd be happy to share it.

Thanks to all who contributed to it - he got on well, his teacher and classmates were impressed - so impressed he'd to do it again for another class.
A great confidence booster for him.
