After several years the Young family now have the majority of his story and I have it on it's own website: http://www.fighterboy.org.uk.
There are still a few months that we need details for, but that will needs a visit to London.
The next part is his father's story Robert Guy Young was a WWI pilot who after his son's death re-enlisted in the RAF, escaped from Singapore his vessel sunk and he was a Japanese POW for 4 years.

The Straits Times archives have been digitised but only search results and not articles are available online. http://newspapers.nl.sg/Default.aspx For example a search for "robert young""rubber" brings up this result http://newspapers.nl.sg/Search_Result.a ... search=Off
