Thank you Jinty for that Dunn site.
I am glad to hear that you made a great contact at the Dunn Site. Maybe somewhere back in time we are related.
I was really excited to find them in Fintry, and now I'm trying to find out all I can about that village in the 18th century.
Won't it be wonderful when the OPR's come online? In the meantime we have the LDS.
One funny thing though, I started my genealogy search late last June, and the most emotional find for me, of all my finds, was finding my grandparents Wedding Cert. I never knew my grandparents, as they died during WWll.
It was a June wedding, and I imagined my 21 year old, grandmother dressed in a white bridal gown, with her parents and friends in attendance. I nearly cried, at this happy picture.
Since then I realize that she was probably married at home, maybe in her best dress. As she was orphaned in her early teens, her parents weren't there, though her grandmother might have been.
This was an important find, as it led to all my other finds,
Regards,
Sheila
P.S. I enjoyed reading about the navy, and Iceland.
