Unusual, but exciting

Post by v_b_gael_h » Sun Sep 23, 2007 3:32 pm

Hi everyone:

This is my first contact with TalkingScot but had a referral from RootsChat which gave me this web site too.
Anyway, I would like to share, with much gratitude, the opportunity of being in contact with a cousin, living. By some weird theory my husband derived he tried finding out from three generations back; along the Sneddon line, which eventually put me in touch with a cousin in Edinburgh.
We have been corresponding through e-mails and are delving further within our roots. I am a Campbell and a lot of my family is from the Fife Region.
We were also able to find that we have living cousins in the Fife and Paisley regions (Campbell and Lavelle) and would like to contact them; however, we do not have formal addresses so hope that maybe someone may know of them so we could communicate via e-mail. :?:

Surnames of our lines are: SNEDDON; SUTHERLAND; CAMPBELL; OLIVER; WHITEHEAD; OVENS; CURRIE; FORRESTER; ROBERTSON; LAVELLE.

Our history is all tied within Midlothian; Clackmannan; Fife and possible earlier ties to Renfrew/Lanarkshires. :?

Hi v_b_gael_h:

Welcome to TalkingScot [scotland-flag] We'll do all that we can to help you explore your roots in Scotland.

Unfortunately, we can not help in tracing living people here on TS, but invite you to explore that option through links we've collected http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5576

You may find that someone on the board is searching the same roots as you and can make some historical connections.

All the best in your searches,
Frances

Hi,

I have Sneddons in Clackmannanshire and Lavelle's in Paisley, though not from the same sides of my family.

You could drop me a PM and we'll see if we have any connections.
