A couple of years ago I asked for advice about my ggreat grandfather Cormick Jordon, but with the info that I had at that time it looked like I had hit a dead end.
With time I have found him in the British Army
He appeared in 1841 and again in 1861 in England. His marriage certificate gave me his regiment and with this I have just obtained a copy of his discharge papers.
Also a discription of him and where he was born in Ireland.
I just wanted to say thank you to those who offered advice and say that sometimes a lot of patience pays off
Wait a while

I am so glad to hear that your patience and persistence paid off
You often find that the folks you're searching for had no conception that decades and centuries later, we'd be looking for them!
Cheers.
