For the past 2 months or so, I have been trying to find out as much as I could about a great uncle, L/Sgt David Hampton, who died in the service of his country in 1918, two long months before the Armistice.
Today, I recieved a letter from the Canadian Department of Veteran Affairs informing me of the medals that he was awarded because of his service.
L/Sgt David Hampton is the recipient of the Military Medal, British War Medal, the Victory Medal, and the GRV Memorial Cross.
This is a victory for me
Now, I have to try and track down any of his surviving family members to see if they have the medals [-o<
Just wanted to share.
