Hello All
This is not a huge wall crashing down but rather a pat on the back for TS with thanks from me. I was contacted through a PM by Scottygirl56 who joined recently and went on a mosey round TS to see if anyone else was researching her family names.
She came across my thread about George PRINGLE b. 1815, Watchmaker in Denny who was transported to Australia and died there (thanks again Alan). Her interest is in the family of a George PRINGLE b. 1791, watchmaker in Edinburgh married to Ann ROBERTSON. We are sharing info and gently correcting each other's occasional inaccuracies while getting more and more excited as we become closer to verifying that she shares a ggg grandfather with my husband. I am off to Edinburgh soon to plough through police records which we hope may nail the relationship once and for all. Sometimes it may help to have ancestors who wandered off the straight and narrow
From getting rather bogged down in filing, sorting etc, suddenly I am off running again. It feels so good. Thank you, all you kind people who put such a lot of work into keeping TS going. So appreciated =D>
Lorna

Hi Lorna:
It's always nice to hear of a success story, especially when the dark filing room is threatening to overwhem! Glad to hear the two of you are moving ahead to solidify your connection. Good luck to both of you ...

Re: TS brought us together!
Thanks for that Lorna You have been such a help to me when I was absolutely stuck! Just knowing that George was around for the 1851 census was great. I had searched and searched for him via the Ancestry.com census records and came up blank - not sure why it was left off but never mind, I have it now.
I am frustrated though at people (not you of course) who latch on to the wrong person and carry on building thier family tree based on an inaccuracy, seems a lot of people doing my family have done this. If you can come up with something that ties my George 1791 to the George who was transported to Australia (and of course then proving that he was married previously etc) then that would be fantastic!
