Irish Success

Post by jillwelsh » Wed Feb 15, 2006 1:50 pm

After many years of giving up on finding any more about my Irish Moore/Currie line I was sitting browsing on Google one evening and by chance typed in William Moore, Moyes (my gt-grandfather and the name of the Townland). Within minutes up popped the following site

http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/yo ... 4257.shtml

A distant relative in Canada had written to them to find out more about the place her father (my gt-uncle) was from. Not only did I have 10 pages of details but also photos of my gt-grandfather (in the pub, where else!!) and his gravestone, various relatives etc.

Now if only I could find the Peacocks and Greers in Aghadowey!!......

Jill
How lucky you are. I have just read the article, wonderful stuff!
I too have ancestors from the Dungiven area and it brought a wee tear to my eye reading it.
