I'd come across one of my husband's relatives, his Grandfather's eldest brother - Christmas Sparks in Norwich. Found some about him, censuses, marriage, child etc. went over to Norwich for a few days in January to research these Sparks, and found the name Christmas going back and back. A real family name. Then later on in January I decided to post that branch of my tree on Genesreunited. Almost straight away an email from another Sparks who happened to be the great-grandson of Christmas and therefore some sort of 2nd or so cousin to my husband.
He then told me about yet another Christmas, the uncle of the above Christmas and of my husband's grandfather. I have had the most marvellous time finding out about him. He was from Norwich but married a girl from Ardersier and remained up in Invernessshire. and I have managed to find all his children and even some of his grandchildren in Scotland (not all Inverness, some came down to Glasgow). This all happened so quickly, All my other rellies have had to be winkled out! None of my other research has been so easy! I'll probably have a famine now for years!
PS and the name Christmas continued down the generations! but in these more modern days it occurs as the second christian name!
Cheers
