I am sooooo excited!

Post by joette » Tue Mar 14, 2006 11:34 am

I decided to just check my e-mail before heading off to the shops this a.m. never thinking there would be anything apart from the usual offer of a million pounds if only I will give them my bank details(gonnae naw!)
There it was a message from Ancestry-I will never moan about it again!
saying there is a reply to your message board re Scotts,Clapperton & Veitch!
Well this person is researching his wife's Family & she is the G-Granddaughter of my Grandfather's sister who emigrated to Sask 1905!
I have found a descendant of her husbands family but this is MINE!
Catherine Lindley nee Scott has always intrigued me & as a small child I would look at the photos of this strange woman-I christined her Saskatwechan Kate-& wonder what kind of life she had led so far away.
She was reputedly over six feet tall & very attractive.
I have posted everywhere looking for any descendants without joy & Lori -the Lindley connection & I had begun to think they had all died out or missed out on the nosey gene.
Wait until I tell my 2nd Cousin in Penicuik,John he has spent time & lots of money trying to trace this branch of the tree.
I guess the release of the 1911 canadian census has brought a lot of intrest to trees that had not been researched before-UK Government take
note :D
Forgot to add that Jack had also found the RCE of my GGrandpa's half-brother's death. It was an accident with a crane which killed him which was not a happy find.I will now have to do a bit more tracing but at least I know what name to use now!

Congratulations Joette! Having recently found "The Granny Who Never Was" (thanks to TS!) I know exactly how you feel. I hope your find leads to many more "twigs" on your family tree!
