The Forgotten Female Line for only £6!!!!

Post by Jean Jeanie » Tue Mar 28, 2006 3:44 pm

I had my gg grandmother's death cert as a staring point and decided to see what I could find out about her family. She died in 1906.

My aids were:-

1. They lived in a small village
2. 1841 and 1851 censuses on line
3. 1881 census discs
4. The IGI
5. £6 on Scotlandspeople for 3 death certs and 2 1861 censuses (again being a small place I had direct hits each time) Death certs had sons in law as informants :) Censuses had granchildren with grandparents and a brother in law :)

I now have 79 family members. Everything confirmed to the oldest couple found marrying in 1785. All this without moving from the computer :D

From the IGI I have 3 generations further back which look to be good. This will take me back to a marriage in 1707

I'll hire the film at my nearest Mormon Church Centre and hopefully confirm that these 3 generations are mine.

So, all in all, for the sum of £9 I am well and truly chuffed to little mint balls \:D/
