Informants - worth their weight in gold!

Post by mallog » Fri Apr 07, 2006 3:38 am

Researching the Dunn family in Leslie in Fife, I have been hampered by not having the 1841 census. However I have just had a look at a death certificate again and noticed the informant was given as Uncle-in-Law. I don't know why I haven't looked into it before but I did a speculative search on IGI and have now got a whole new branch of the family and found a member I assumed must have died. Yes !! Result !!
Anderson, McAlpine, Blue - Argyll
Dunn Fife /ML
Coutts, McGregor - Perth/Govan
Glen, Crow, Imrie - Angus
Scott & Pick ML
Mason - Co Down

Thanks for sharing your find with us. We can never look closely enough at certificates, can we?

Have a good day
