Distant relatives were drowned when the MV Seaforth was sunk and I would like to find out more about it, including where the ship sailed from and where it was going to and where it was when it was torpedoed, etc. I would be grateful if someone could let me know where I could get further infomation.
Many thanks
John Wilson

Tracing the coordinates at Google Earth shows, the Atlantic Ocean nearly 550 miles west of the most northerly part of the Scottish mainland.

Hi
That position puts the ship just inside the Mid Atlantic Air Gap.
There is some info about the convoys here http://www.naval-history.net/WW2Campaig ... ticDev.htm
Also see: http://www.photoship.co.uk/Disasters%20 ... plist.html then click on the MAJOR DISASTERS AT SEA
