COASTAL COMMUNITIES IN VICTORIAN SCOTLAND: WHAT MAKES NORTH-EAST FISHER FAMILIES DISTINCTIVE?
http://www.localpopulationstudies.org.u ... _15-31.pdf

I found this interesting and managed to read it all the way through without wilting ! The first paragraph made me smile and probably kept me reading
Scotland - Donaldson / Moggach / Shaw / Geddes / Sim / Gray / Mackie / Richards / Joel / Coull / Mckimmie / Panton / McGregor
Ireland and Scotland - Casey / McDade / Phillips / McCandle / Dinely / Comaskey + various spellings

Very interesting reading Tracey. Thanks for that.
.
Also answered my question about my Great-Grandfathers sibling who became members of the Plymouth Brethern sect-there was a revival in the area where the McKimmies lived during the late 1800's.
