Me again - and yet more bottlemakers...

Post by littlealison » Sat Jul 16, 2011 6:12 pm

Hello all.
Re the siblings of John Little, b Glasgow 1812.
When I first was sent a long family tree, John was down as having brothers (never found any sisters) Andrew b 1814(not found anywhere), Samuel b 1816 (died) Samuel b 1827(not found).

Recently I found an Andrew Little b 1830 (in Dumbarton, which is quite possible) on the new FamilySearch site - same parents, Thomas Little and Elizabeth Lang. He's in the 1871 census of Scotland as a bottleblower, living very near where John worked, in Broad Street in Camlachie. After which he vanishes. Where to?

And there's a George Little b 1824 in Glasgow, who appears in 1861 as - a bottleblower - living in Canal Street, also very near John who was living and working in the Port Dundas bottleworks then. He seems to have had a son George b 1850 who was at John Little's funeral in 1889 (in Newton-le-Willows)as a nephew.
However, I can't find any parents for the first George.

Anyone feel like ferreting around to find out any more? - Alison
