Hi
Alexander Will in Edinburgh has his occupation listed as “La Texamine of Crestons Larthar Arver on a Superanna Tios Allowins” and a “Con H P Cresminer of Custoues“ in the 1851 and 1841 censuses, respectively. He has a house manager and two house servants. Does any one know what these occupations are?

Have you looked at the originals on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk , or are you using the transcriptions on Ancestry? The Ancestry transcriptions can be poor, depending on the style of handwriting on the original.
I've had a look at the 1851 original on ScotlandsPeople and see most of it:

According to various entries in Parliamentary Papers:
In 1822 he was on a salary of £400 per annum and contributed £20 per annum to the superannuation fund. He was appointed by the The Lords of His Majesty's Treasury, by a Warrant, dated 9th October 1809. He attended daily, from five to six hours, actively employed, and longer on special occasions.
