Looking for pics if possible please

Post by jeffwil » Mon Nov 29, 2010 7:39 am

Hey Folks,

I realize this probably the wrong time (season wise) to be asking for headstone pictures, but hey it's worth a shot. I have asked other people, and just lately the genealogist in the area, I thought I would test the waters here to see if anyone would be willingly to go take a look.

I am looking for headstone photos of ancestors mostly from Lochlee churchyard (I have the burial locations or approximate but in one section), one from Brechin cemetery(I have burial location), and possibly two from Stracathro Churchyard (that I don't have burial locations :( . The problem I guess would be weather conditions, being as the Lochlee one I hear is fairly remote and such. The names are fairly common as well (my family didn't have an imagination).

I live in Canada and don't have the means at the moment, or I would look myself. If someone could get back to me that would be super, before I go to plan D ](*,)

Thank you,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

In Scotland we are having unusually early heavy snow just now. These cemeteries are almost certainly under more than a foot of snow with the roads waiting for the snowplough.

All the best,

Thanks AndrewP for the response, I realize it was probably the wrong time of the year to ask. I hope to get to Glenesk in my lifetime, and was hoping to obtain some headstones pictures in the meantime. I still hope someone from TalkingScot either from Montrose or nearby will see this and will kindly offer their services once Old Man Winter has packed up and gone home. I confess I do not know the weather conditions in Scotland, as I know my own.

Your winter weather has even caught our national news attention.

Thanks again AndrewP, here's hoping

Jeff
