Hello Folks,
I have found my great grandmother and her 14 year old daughter buried at St Kentigerns, Maryhill, Glasgow. They were buried 1908 and 1918 respectively. I am sure that my great grandfather will be there also but the microfilm at the Mitchell, which contains the year of his death - 1911-, has the first part missing and doesn't begin till 1 May 1911.
Can someone tell me where I could see another film or a paper document which would confirm that he is indeed there? In other words - what do I do now?????
Alexander DUNDAS died 6 Mar 1911
Rose Ann DUNDAS died 23 Sept 1918
Catherine Jane DUNDAS died 15 May 1908
Lair No. 713 - section illegible but possibly 6
Hope someone can help,
Carole

If you can get to a Family History Centre at an LDS Church they may be able to order the relevent film in for you.

I know Glasgow City Council charge ridiculous prices these days for burial locations but since you have a plot number I would try emailing them and asking who is buried there. les@glasgow.gov.uk
When I found a receipt for a lair purchase at Craigton I emailed them and they sent me an email with a list of the names, ages and dates of the 4 people.
It did take them ages to get back to me and it was a few years ago but I wasn't asked for any money.
Might be worth a shot.
Regards,
Annette

Hello Annette,
Tried what you suggested and received a reply from Glasgow City Council with details of those in the lair. Unfortunately my great grandfather was not in that lair with his wife and daughter even though he died between the dates of their deaths. Two other children who died later were in that lair. So, now I have to find out if he or his wife bought another lair or is he buried somewhere else?
Will see if the FHC in Glasgow has the film of the cemetery records and will then speak nicely to my sister!
All the best,
Carole
