Hi

I'm trying to find a burial/gravestone for my great uncle and was wondering if there is a cemetery in Hamilton,Scotland and how I would contact them for details. i am looking for dates round about the 1860's too the early 1920's. thank you for your help in advance. :)

Hi,

South Lanarkshire Cemetery records covering Hamilton are here:

If you want to find out where someone is buried, the records for our cemeteries are held at our Cemeteries Section, 18 Forrest Street, Blantyre.

Drop in at reception and we will try to help you trace the records you need.

If you can't visit in person, give us a call with as much background information as you can, such as:

name
date of death or burial
name of the cemetery or the most likely area

Sadly they don't give the phone number on the South Lanarkshire Council web site!!!
