Bishopbriggs grave
My great grandma Annie Jackson (nee Boyle) died in 1900 in Bishopbriggs aged 39. She was Catholic. Just wondering which cemetery she would have been buried.

If you know the date or at least month that she died then you could try searching the British Newspaper Archive for a funeral notice, that would give the relevant details.
Another route would be to look at some of the sites that have surveyed cemeteries like 'Find a grave' or Billions of graves.
Have a look too at old maps of the area to see where she lived and where the nearest cemetery was and where her nearest church would have been. The National Library of Scotland has a terrific maps resource.

Hi Wilma
Thanks for your reply. The nearest cemetery is Cadder. I have searched find a grave but there is nothing. I will do as you suggest and look through the death notices. Thanks for your help.

Re: Bishopbriggs grave
I contacted the Glasgowlife archive and they have found the grave. Annie was buried at St Kentigerns Catholic cemetery in Glasgow. The lair number is 2205 section 4 class A. They were not able to give me the exact location of the grave in the cemetery. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the cemetery, and could point me in the right direction. I have a map but it just has the section marked on it. It would be helpful to know where 2205 is before I visit.

I discovered a facebook page for the cemetery, it seems the chap is slowly photographing each stone he can find and making up a database.

I think the 'Class' mentioned is the row in the Section, which would narrow it down a bit for you.
There used to be a website "Memento Mori" that had a searchable database of many Glasgow, and further afield cemeteries, but it doesn't seem to be around anymore.

According to the Council handout as you enter St Kentigerns and follow the path as it bends to the left the section to your RIGHT is Section 1 while Section 3 is immediately to your left.
At the first junction in the path turn left and left at the next junction - immediately to your right is Section 4 (or part of it the other piece is just beyond a small path)
