Glad this thread as 'resurrected' after being dormant for so long.
Its been a while since I looked at my Lindsays/McPhees, and in the intrim, I have collated quite a bit more. MorayLass, we are distantly related in that George would be my late wifes 1st cousin 3 times removed! My main interest is in the KELBIE surname, but I have been tracking related 'tinker/traveller' families (on and off) over the past 40 years. Quite a bit of my data has been supplied to Libindx, but I have not been up there in recent years.

Sorry to confuse things but I am not related to the Lindsay's or McPhee's, I just thought the Northern Scot newspaper might have something of use. My folks are from further east - farmers and fishers.
