Hi /sandy

Do you want the two page summary of religion in Scotland or the detailed description volumes 1 and 2. Alan suggested that the minister was United Presbyterian when he died. Its possible that earlier he was United Free Church since many breakaway groups re-united/united/merged/re-named themselves and the naming patterns depend on who merged with which :?
Many Seccession churches were set up in the 1780's/ 1790's which may explain the lack of Baptismal evidence; lost while they were members of a breakaway church.

Sandy,

In Google Books, as well as a search for "rose street" mcgilchrist
http://www.google.com.au/search?tbo=p&t ... v:f&num=10

try "rose street" m'gilchrist, and you’ll get extra results.

All the best,
Alan

Thank you Russell and Alan. Much appreciated :)

I've just had a quick look at those links and the Rev had Selkirk connections. Lots of other interesting coincidences too. Looks like I'll be up until the wee small hours reading -- again! hee hee
