Hi all,
I have found a relative on the 1851 census, but can't read her place of birth. It is Banffshire, something? She is the second family name down, Janet Chalmers. I've posted it on photobucket if anyone has a minute to look.

Hi Carol,
My feeling is that it probably says "Banffshire, Cullen".
All the best,
AndrewP

Thanks, Andrew,
Unfortunately, that only adds to the mystery! Janet's maiden name was McWilliam and there were a number of them in Banffshire, but not around Cullen. If I have the correct OPR, she married James Chalmers in Dyce in 1808 and they lived in Newhills afterward. The 1841 census only says Scotland for place of birth.
On with the hunt...
