Would this be the couple in the 1841 census?
They don't appear on the 1851 so may well have died in the intervening years.
[the ages in the 1841 census are rounded down to the nearest 5, and only the resident county is noted for a birth place.]
I'm not seeing any obvious deaths in the OPRs, but given the proximity of the Mearns area to Glasgow, they could have died there.
